Attorney-drafted model and talent releases for commercial photography and content production.

Includes adult and minor releases, a separate AI / Digital Replica Consent Addendum, and a purchaser guide—so commercial-use rights, portfolio permissions, and synthetic-media issues are addressed deliberately instead of buried in generic boilerplate.

Commercial-use releases built for real business content.

Getting permission to take someone’s picture is not the same thing as having permission to use that person’s identity in advertising, marketing, e-commerce, social media, packaging, or other commercial content.

The Model / Talent Release Package is designed for photographers, studios, agencies, brands, and other businesses creating commercial content featuring identifiable people.

It includes separate forms for adults and minors, plus a dedicated AI / Digital Replica Consent Addendum for projects involving synthetic voice, digital doubles, face replacement, generated performances, or other uses that should not be quietly buried in a standard release.

What’s included

  • Adult Commercial Model / Talent Consent and Release
  • Minor Model / Talent Consent and Release
  • AI / Digital Replica Consent Addendum
  • Purchaser guide

Built for commercial use

The standard releases include customizable terms for matters such as:

  • Project or campaign
  • Client or brand
  • Photographer or studio
  • Compensation
  • Territory
  • Duration
  • Special restrictions
  • Photographer portfolio and self-promotional rights

Authorized uses can include ordinary business and promotional channels such as websites, social media, e-commerce, email marketing, digital and print advertising, packaging, point-of-sale materials, presentations, and trade shows.

Portfolio permission is handled separately

A client may have permission to use an image without the photographer automatically having permission to use that same image in a portfolio.

This package treats photographer portfolio and self-promotional use as a separate affirmative permission, so that issue has a defined place rather than being left to assumption.

AI and digital-replica rights are handled separately

The standard release permits ordinary editing and production work such as cropping, resizing, color correction, background replacement, layout work, and AI-assisted tools used for those ordinary purposes.

But it does not quietly grant sweeping synthetic-media rights.

Creating a synthetic performance, voice clone, digital double, face replacement, or other digital replica requires separate written authorization.

The included AI / Digital Replica Consent Addendum allows specific rights to be selected and described, including:

  • Digital image replica
  • Synthetic voice
  • Face replacement or digital double
  • Generated speech or performance
  • Material alteration of a recorded performance
  • Generative-model training or fine-tuning, if specifically authorized

The addendum also provides places to describe the campaign or purpose, media, duration, territory, compensation, and—if model training is authorized—the model or provider, purpose, retention or deletion terms, and downstream sharing.

Model training is prohibited by default unless specifically authorized.

A minor release designed for minors

The Minor Model / Talent Consent and Release is not simply the adult form with a parent signature added.

It separately addresses:

  • Parent or guardian authority
  • Optional minor assent
  • Compensation subject to applicable legal requirements
  • Potential child-performer requirements such as permits, work-hour restrictions, trust accounts, court approval, or supervision

The standard Minor Release does not grant digital-replica or model-training rights involving minors. Projects involving synthetic-media use of a minor may require jurisdiction-specific legal review.

Who it’s for

This package is designed for commercial projects involving people such as:

  • Models
  • Actors
  • Influencers
  • Employees
  • Founders
  • Customers
  • Brand representatives
  • Other identifiable individuals appearing in commercial content

It can be useful for:

  • Commercial photographers and studios
  • Creative agencies
  • Product and lifestyle brands
  • Content-production businesses
  • Businesses commissioning commercial photography or promotional content

What it’s not

This package is not designed to serve as:

  • A talent booking agreement
  • An employment agreement
  • An independent-contractor agreement
  • A wedding or consumer portrait release system
  • A union or guild agreement
  • A substitute for individualized advice in complicated entertainment productions or other high-risk situations

A release handles permission to use the person’s identity. It does not, by itself, address every aspect of the person’s services or employment relationship.

Designed to pair with a commercial photography agreement

Copyright ownership in the photograph and permission to commercially use the identity of the person appearing in it are separate legal issues.

For commercial photography engagements, this package is designed to coordinate naturally with the Commercial Photography MSA Bundle, including project-specific terms such as campaign scope, territory, duration, permitted media, and photographer portfolio rights.

Important

Your purchase includes a license to customize and reuse the template for your own business or organization’s commercial photography transactions, subject to the Digital Product Terms and License.

This is a self-service digital legal product. Purchase does not include customization, individualized attorney review, negotiation assistance, or legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship or expand any existing or prior attorney-client relationship with King Patent Law, PLLC or it’s attorney.

Laws vary by jurisdiction and circumstances. The package is not guaranteed to satisfy every state-specific law, child-performer requirement, union or guild obligation, or specialized production need. No legal template can account automatically for every jurisdiction, project, client, or factual situation. Purchasers remain responsible for determining whether their particular circumstances require modification or individualized legal advice. Consider having the completed agreement reviewed by an attorney licensed in the applicable state, particularly for significant IP rights, unusual relationships, international disclosures, employment issues, or high-value commercialization opportunities.
